Ricotta, honey, figs and Prosciutto Tartine

I know, this is an easy fix and really tasty. As in all my recipes! my tought is always to mix different textures and flavors, So here is my new open faced sandwich. So it’s so easy and simple, I mean, you can’t get any simpler than this! and seriously you can combine your favorite ingredients! this could be a take to work lunch or and light dinner.

In my house this is even a kid approved meal! they choose their toppings and they are good to go! so what are you waiting for? give this recipe a try! and put your kids to work and let them make their own choices from your pre-selected ingredients! it’s a win win situation and you are giving them the control over their choices you have already made.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices rustic bread cut 1/2 -inch thick
  • 1 cup of ricotta cheese
  • 3 figs sliced
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup of toasted nuts crushed into chunks
  • 3 tablespoons honey plus 1/2 teaspoon for drizzling
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 8 thin slices Iberico Serrano or prosciutto

Instructions

  • Heat your broiler in the oven.
  • Lightly brush both sides of the bread slices with olive oil. Grill the bread until golden brown, about 2 minutes, then turn and grill the second side about 1 to 2 minutes.
  • In a frying pan, heat at medium fire, two tablespoons of honey, add the sliced figs, cook for about 5 - 8 minutes. Take off the stove.
  • Mix the cheeses and 1 tablespoon of honey together and season with salt and pepper. Divide this mixture and spread over the 4 slices of bread. warm for 2 minutes in the oven.
  • Top each with six slices of figs. Top each sandwich with two slices of Iberico, Serrano or prosciutto. Sprinkle the nuts over each sandwich. Drizzle over a little honey.

Lo sé, esto es una solución fácil y muy sabrosa. Como en casi todas mis recetas! mi deseo es siempre mezclar diferentes texturas y sabores, así que aquí está mi nuevo sándwich de una sola cara o Tartine.

Tartine de Ricotta, miel, higos & Prosciutto

Ingredients

  • 4 rebanadas de pan rústico cortado en rebanadas de media pulgada de espesor
  • 1 taza de queso ricotta
  • 3 higos en rodajas
  • 1/2 taza de queso parmesano rallado
  • 1/4 taza de nueces tostadas cortadas en trozos
  • 3 cucharadas de miel además de media cucharadita para decorar
  • sal y pimienta recién molida
  • 8 rodajas finas de jamón Iberico Serrano o prosciutto

Instructions

  • Caliente la posición de salamandra o broil en el horno.
  • Con una brocha, unte ambos lados de las rebanadas de pan con aceite de oliva. Tostar el pan hasta que estén dorados, unos 2 minutos, luego gire y tueste del segundo lado alrededor de 1 a 2 minutos.
  • En una sartén, calentar a fuego medio, dos cucharadas de miel, añadir los higos en rodajas, cocinar durante unos 5-8 minutos. Retirar del fuego, reserve.
  • Mezclar los quesos y 1 cucharada de miel juntos y sazonar con sal y pimienta. Divida esta mezcla y reparta en las 4 rebanadas de pan. Caliente durante 2 minutos en el horno.
  • Coloque seis rebanadas de higos en cada rebanada de pan, cubra tartine con dos rebanadas jamón, espolvorear las nueces y la miel restante sobre cada sándwich o tartine.

Así de fácil y simple, es decir, no se puede conseguir nada más simple que esto y seriamente puede combinar sus ingredientes favoritos! esto podría ser  un almuerzo de trabajo o una cena ligera.

En mi casa esto es una comida aprobad por los más chicos! eligen sus ingredientes y los preparan ellos mismos ¿entonces, qué esperas? para darle a esta receta una oportunidad! y poner a sus hijos a trabajar y dejar que ellos tomen sus propias decisiones de sus ingredientes que TU has preseleccionado que es una situación ganar-ganar y usted les está dando el control sobre sus opciones que usted ya ha hecho.

  • Hi, Gaila! That’s my kind of meal. I’ve got a great palate, you know:) I would add just a bit of fresh herbs (maybe thyme or oregano), just to accentuate all the flavors even better. Nicely done anyway!
